The cast is a kind of RSC in exile, isn’t it? They’re all extraordinary Shakespearean actors. The reason I did it was really just so I could stand and watch Ben Whishaw [who plays King Richard II]. I’ve watched him many times, in many different films and plays, and I was fascinated to see what he did up close.
